About the event
The Community Emergency Preparedness Programme (CEPP) is a comprehensive three-tier structured programme, which SCDF have rolled out with effect from 1st November 2016. APSA Singapore had tied up with HQ 2nd SCDF Division to provide this SGSecure training for CEPP Tier 1 (I am Safe) and Tier 2 (Response Ready) programme. The programme will allow APSA members to gain emergency preparedness knowledge and acquire practical life-saving skills.
CEPP Syllabus
CEPP Tier 1: ‘I AM SAFE’ Programme (approximately 15 minutes)
This e-learning programme focuses on two key topics:
• What do you do when a fire breaks out?
• Improvised First Aid Skills (IFAS)
We strongly encourage our participants to attempt the online Tier 1 module (10-15min long) prior to attending the training. The online module can be found via: https://www.scdf.gov.sg/content/scdf_internet/en/community-and-volunteers/community-preparedness/community-programmes/cepp.html. Receive an e-certificate upon successful completion.

CEPP Tier2: ‘RESPONSE READY’ Programme (approximately 3 .5 hours)
Participants will learn basic Emergency Preparedness (EP) knowledge. The main focus of this programme will be on the practical hands-on training on three vital EP skills known as the 'Triangle of Life’ (first aid, CPR-AED and firefighting).
• Overview of SGSecure
• Essential EP knowledge
• First Aid
o Roles of a First Aider and Scene Safety
o Contents of First Aid Kit
o Burns, Wounds and Bleeding Management
o Sprain Management
o Choking
• CPR – AED
o Application of D.A.R.E concept
o Save-A-Life initiative
• Fire Fighting
o Procedures of operating a fire extinguisher and a hose reel
Courses will be provided FOC for APSA paid up members.
Recommended Training Attire: Long pants/slacks with shirts/tees and shoes.
(Shorts, bermudas, singlet, mini-skirts and slippers are not allowed.)
Light refreshments will be provided at the end of the programme.
